SHOW+ EXPO 2023
The Fashion Department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts will be presenting its annual fashion show in the Waagnatie on 9 and 10 June. For the very first time, the show is under the supervision of Creative Director Brandon Wen this year. All first to final year students will show their creations on the catwalk. You can admire the students' designs up close ahead of the show at the Masters EXPO. Tickets are now available at showww.be.
Man Ray and Fashion
The exhibition marries Man Ray's iconic photography and artwork with fashion silhouettes from the interwar period, with the work of contemporary fashion designers and photographers inspired by his work. On display will be creations by Chanel, Maison Lanvin, Madeleine Vionnet, Norine, Yves Saint Laurent, Martin Margiela, Olivier Theyskens, Dries Van Noten and others. (22.04-13.08.2023, MoMu)
Now also on view at MoMu: Geometrically Wired. This exhibition is offering an insight into the life and work of the Belgian artist IO Van Oostveldt. (25.02-30.07.2023)
An angel, kissing spring
Dirk Van Saene gives us an insight into man's greatest fear, mortality, in his new exhibition ‘An angel, kissing spring’. The fear of ageing originates from the fear of death, of separation from the world. (13.05-18.06.2023, Gallery Sofie Van de Velde)
Masters Expo
The Academy bids farewell to its Master's students at the end of the academic year. The latest batch of artists and designers shows its graduation projects throughout the whole Academy and beyond. A visit to these presentations offers an insight into the highly personal process of the young Master's students of Fine Arts. (22.06-25.06.2023)
